LL.M. International Business Law

For International Students

Accommodation

The accommodation of the participants must be organized individually. Housing for students is offered by different institutions that are connected with the University, but operate independently (the tuition fee does not cover living costs).

Since the demand on housing is high, it is important to start looking for accommodation in good time and to explore every possible avenue. The University of Zurich has an office for international students which provides the necessary information and help.
Accomondation in Zurich

For students under the age of 27 years there is an opportunity to apply for a room at the Alumni organization of the Faculty of Law.

Visa

Depending on their country of origin, international students may require a visa for their stay in Switzerland. We advise all prospective students to apply for their visa as soon as possible (at the Swiss embassy in their own country) after receiving their official admission confirmation. For visa/entry requirements, please consult the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs.

Insurance

Individuals residing in Switzerland for more than three months are subject to a mandatory health insurance requirement. EU students who are legally insured in their home country can be exempted from this insurance obligation by presenting a European Health Insurance Card or a provisional replacement certificate. Both can be obtained from the health insurance provider in their home country.

Cost of Living

The living expenses for students are very individual. However, an approximate guideline for our international students can be found on the University of Zurich's website.
